About this product
The SilentShark S401 is the 2024-edition successor to the original Silentwind, redeveloped by the same German engineer with three priorities: safety, silence and output. It is a 450 W-class, three-blade permanent-magnet wind generator weighing only about 7 kg, with hand-laminated carbon fibre blades that start turning at 2.2 m/s and begin charging at 2.5 m/s — the light, shifty air of a sheltered anchorage that most turbines sleep through. A patented, fully automatic storm brake works independently of the controller, and the rotor has passed a 122 km/h wind-tunnel test.

Every S401 ships with its matched SilentShark MPPT Hybrid Boost controller: wind and solar inputs in one fanless aluminium box, MPPT boost that converts low-wind voltage into usable charge, an LCD showing W, A, V, Ah and kWh, a battery temperature sensor and external stop-switch harness, and an electronic brake. Battery types: lead-acid, gel, AGM and lithium. Two switchable 10 A load outputs on 12 V and 24 V models (none on 48 V).

Installation notes
Mount on a 48–50 mm stainless mast high enough that no crew can reach the rotor. Cable from generator to battery: 6 mm² at 12 V (up to 9 m), 2.5 mm² at 24 V and 48 V; fit the battery fuse listed above as close to the battery as possible. Add the noise damping flange and mast base bracket for the quietest installation, and pair with a Fullriver AGM house bank sized for your loads — we can specify the whole system.
