About this product
DataCell II is the monitor Merlin builds for applications where the number on the screen has to be right: charter fleets, lifeboats, ambulances and military vehicles. It combines current measurement through a 500 A / 50 mV shunt with Merlin's state-of-charge algorithm, so it avoids the classic problems of shunt monitors — synchronisation loss, state-of-charge drift, battery-post resistance errors — while still showing live current and net charge or discharge.
Every unit has CAN bus and RS422 outputs, USB data logging and eight programmable inputs and outputs for generator auto-start, low-battery alarms and load control. Plug-and-play remote panels are available with an alphanumeric LCD or a large red LED display readable across a bridge or cab. Independently verified accuracy and a military-specification derivative (DataCell IIe) make it the reference monitor in its class.
