About this product
SmartBank Lite sits between a basic VSR and Merlin's programmable SmartBank PRO. It links two battery banks together whenever a charge source is present — alternator, mains charger, solar or wind — and separates them again when charging stops so that house loads cannot pull the engine battery down. Because it senses charge on either bank, a shore charger or solar panel on the house bank will also top up the engine battery.
The unit uses a 125 A contactor mounted in a clean, dry location between the batteries and a small CPU. It is supplied in 12 V and 24 V versions; OEM builders can buy the CPU alone and Merlin's matching 125 A contactors separately.
